Phuket International Airport (HKT) is served by over a dozen airlines, including Thai Airways International, Bangkok Airways, Silk Air, Malaysia Airlines and the local budger Air Asia, and caters to almost 3 million passengers a year. WHereas there are many scheduled flights operating, Phuket also receives a lot of charter flights bringing in hordes of tourists from Europe.
The airport is located at the northern end of Phuket island and is located approximately 15 minutes from Bang Tao beach, 40 minutes from Patong beach and an hour from Phuket City by car.

The Port of Phuket is a deep sea port which caters to both cargo and cruise ship from Thailand and abroad. Contact your travel agent for information about the cruises to Phuket.
The journey to Phuket by road is almost 900 KM from Bangkok and takes about eight to nine hours. You have to take Route 4 going South. The road will take you through Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Prachuap-Khirikan. At Chumphon turn right to Ranong, and from there go south through Kraburi and Kapoe Districts to Phang Nga Province. In Phang Nga the road passes through Kuraburi, Takuapa, and Thai Muang Districts before reaching the town of Kok Kloy.From there you can cross iover to Phuket over the Thao Thep Kasatri or Sarasin Bridge.
Buses take about 14 hours from Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal to Phuket.
Both air-conditioned and non air–conditioned buses leave daily at 6.30 pm and the fare is about 700 to 800 Baht. Scheduled mini-bus trips from Singapore and Penang are also available.
