Offering some of the world's most spectacular views, Phi Phi islands are a group of six islands and are accesible from Krabi. with some very unique topography, the islands are what makes Krabi a vry desirable tourist destination. Of the six islands, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley are the biggest and the best known.
The largest of the Phi Phi islands, Phi Phi Don is two hours boatride from the Chao Fah Bridge in Krabi, the fare being 150 baht. Phi Phi Don comprises of two main sections, peculiarly connected by a narrow strip of glittering white sand and it was here that the first settlement of Ton Sai was established. Since that time, Phi Phi Don has earned a reputation as one of the most alluring sights in the region, offering spectacular beaches, gleaming, turquoise seas, and remarkable landscapes.
Although Phi Phi Don has experienced a tremendous amount of growth, and is no longer the pristine island that it was just ten years ago, Phi Phi Don still remains one of the most magnificent places in the region. The recent developement has brought with it a more complete range of services. A virtually unlimited number of recreational activities are now offered for the tourist and the traveler.
The area surrounding Phi Phi Don is home to large gardens of coral, and a wide variety of marine wildlife, making it a first-class diving and snorkeling site. And the towering limestone cliffs, with their sheer faces and imposing overhangs, make the ideal destination for rock-climbers. Rentals and lessons can be arranged through many of the hotels and guesthouses. The beaches of Phi Phi Don are Hat Yao, Hat Lanti , Hat Hin Khom, Hat Hin Khao, Ton Sai, Hat Laem Tong.
The very pristine island of Phi Phi Ley is the second largest of the Phi Phi Islands. An abundance of coral reefs makes Phi Phi Ley very popular with scuba divers. Another attraction of the island is the Phaya Naak Cave, or Viking Cave, with its prehistoric carvings. Phi Phi Ley is also famous for the nests of the edible-nest swiftlet, which fetch up to US $2000 per kilogram. These are guarded against poachers by armed guards. The motion picture "The Beach" starring Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed on Phi Phi Ley. However this movie gives viewers a mere glimpse of the beautifulscenery this island has to offer. Overnight stays on Phi Phi Ley are forbidden. Day trips are available.
This small island, a few km north of Phi Phi Don, has two small beaches. Like Phi Phi Don, and Phi Phi Ley, Yung Island offers visitors some fabulous scenery and feature brilliant views of pristine coral fields. Day trips are available to Yung Island from Phi Phi Don.
A small deserted island in the Phi Phi chain, Phai Island Phai Island offers some fabulous scenery and coral specimens. Uninhabited like Yung Island, this pristine island is uninhabited, and has no accommodation. but can be visited during the day by boat.
With over 19 pristine, tree-lined beaches, friendly residents and inexpensive accommodations, Lanta Island provides its visitors a serene, relaxing vacation. Although not as scenic as some other areas in the province, Koh Lanta offers travelers the increasing rarity: peace and quiet. Aded attractions are the recently developed national marine park to the south and the large community of sea gypsies further south. The beaches of Lanta Island are Klong Dao, Phra Ae, Klong Koang, Klong Nin, Kantiang.

Hong Island with its beautiful sandy beach and wonderful deep and shallow water coral deposits is another of the Phi Phi islands worht a visit. It also has several caves that are home to the edible-nest swiftlet. Located at the edge of the Than Bokkhorani National Park, it is accessible by boat from Ao Pranang. The trip takes about an hour.
