Despite the growing number of shopping centers and malls, markets remain one of the most popular ways for Thais to shop. They have retained their charm to a great extent and a visit to one of these markets can be very rewarding in terms of the sheer experience, as also shopping for self or for souvenirs to take back home.
While visiting these markets, specially remember that these are very crowded places and therefore, as in any city, popular with the pick pocket fraternity. Take special care of your belongings and avoid taking advice from strangers.
