The Crocodile Farm Bangkok

Crocodile Farm is the brainchild of Thailand’s highly publicised ‘Crocodile King’, Mr.Utai Youngprapakorn. It isd located in Samutprakarn, just outside Bangkok and is recognised as the world?s largest centre for crocodiles.

It has over 60,000 crocodiles in 28 different species, some of them no longer in existence elsewhere. The Crocodile farm has The largest crocodile ever held in captivity. It is an Estuarine/Siamese hybrid named "YAI" (Born on June 10 1972) and measures 6 metres (19 ft 8 in) in length and weighs 1,114 kg (2,465 lb)

The Crocodile Farm helps preserve crocodiles by breeding them in captivity and also acts as an educational and research centre for the conservation of wildlife.

There are crocodile wrestling shows held every hour and also elephant shows, etc. which are very popular, specially with children. There are also elephant and camel rides, paddle boats on the lake and a visit to the ‘Monkey Playground’. You can easily spend a whole day there, specially with children and, time permitting, it is certainly worth a visit.

It is open daily from 7.00am to 6.00pm and admission is 300 Baht for adults and 200 Baht for children.

There are organised tours (check with the travel desk at your hotel) that will take you there, or you can do it by taxi. The round-trip fare is about 500 Baht, but there will be extra waiting charge also.
